Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was the home of her mother as a mother. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. When she was just 6, McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick got her first big job when she was cast in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for Chatty Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the youngest daughter of the three towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show ran for five years. McCormick said in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice she almost ended her relationship in the fifth season of the show with Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. The actress was just 16 years older and the actor 19, at the time. The timing would not have had worked out for us, she told me.
